All By Myse-e-elf...

What's going on in my life? All kinds of wacky things! Here is a brief update:

1. I started my new job today! One of the reasons for my brevity in this post is because I have started a new blog documenting a bit about my life in real estate - feel free to check it out by clicking right here.

2. Kat is gone! Well, for 9 weeks at least. She will be at the UN in Geneva for the next 3 weeks, before doing some backpacking around south-eastern Europe. It's strange to be living by myself again, and I am sure I will get used to it and be comfortable with it by the time she returns and makes me get used to living with someone else all over again.

3. Sunny Coast Madness!! After a brief stop in Collingwood Park (near Ipswich but slightly less bogan) to visit Lauren and Pete in their brand new house, I headed up to the Sunshine Coast to spend some time with my sister Rebecca and her daughter (ie my niece) Ashlee. Once again, I love being the uncle - you can quite comfortably fulfil whatever parental needs you might have whilst still maintaining only minor responsibility for the few days every few months when you are with your sibling's children.

4. War of the Worlds is a definitely-worth-seeing film. Especially if you can catch it at the cinema. I saw it with Loz and Pete on Friday night and was really quite impressed. Granted, I went in with low expectations and my usual 'The movie is never as good at the book' attitude, but still found it to be a great film. Spielberg did a great job with converting the story to a present-day setting, and Tom Cruise was more than acceptable in his leading role. Oh yeah, and it had aliens, robots and explosions - which also do wonders for ANY film.

5. I am not going to Splendour in the Grass partially due to work, partially due to the lineup not really doing it for me and partially becuase Kat and I were going as a bit of an anniversary thing, and she will be in Switzerland instead. Want to bid on my tickets? Go for it!
