Eating Endangered Species Will Get You On Radio

Many people over the years have decried my consumption of animals that we don't normally view as food - whale in particular.

Finally, after all this time, I have had the opportunity to share with the nation my love for all things cetacean and on my plate. Jay and the Doctor were discussing the issue this morning on JJJ and when they asked for callers it only seemed right that I voice the real issue at hand. Whales taste good - simple as that.

It is their own fault that they should evolve in such a way to make them delicious and nutritious - you won't get any sympathy from me, you whale-watching tree-huggers.

In other 'news' (aka happenings in my life), my car is in the 'shop having it's engine tinkered with - specifically having the timing chain tensioner replaced. Ho-hum. Be prepared for a review of a certain Gold Coast mechanic once the job is done.

In other other 'news' I am switching jobs in roughly six weeks - basically we are running out of houses to sell and there won't be enough work around for the entire sales team. Ho-hum once again. A job in general real estate is waiting for me if I want it - it will be a matter of something better coming along between now and then. We shall see.

In more fun happenings, I went out with Kat and some friends (and friends of friends) on Friday night - despite the fact that my roster has changed and I now work Friday to Tuesday. After some predrinking we headed into Broadie for a few at Element (under the Aria building along the main drag) before going up to Quest.

I haven't been into Quest for years, simply because it used to be a crappy hip-hop playing dive (at least that was my memory of it). Things have changed and the club is a bit swankier (the music too has improved markedly) and they now have 'shows'. I am not sure what they are normally like, but in the case of their new show "Tabu" they involve women dancing around in underwear. It wasn't fantastic, but there certainly were a few redeeming features.
